Sprinkles Are a Girl’s Best Friend

Let’s be honest, I’m always 10x happier when I walk into my kitchen and there are cookies to munch on. They don’t have to be anything fancy, plain chocolate chip will do just fine.

Fresh cookies make a home feel more inviting and I love when I can have fun with holidays and incorporate some extra festive twists!

It can be challenging to create red, white, and blue dishes without overusing the same few ingredients (I’m looking at you, blueberries), but some of our family favorites are Red, White, & Blue Cheeseburgers, Blueberry Salsa, and none other than a classic American Mixed Berry Cast Iron Cobbler.

When it comes to star-spangled desserts, I rely heavily on holiday sprinkle packs and loved this patriotic sprinkles pack from my local Walmart!

This recipe can easily be swapped with other holiday sprinkly packs and used all year long. Next up on the agenda might be Halloween!

How To: Make Funfetti Sugar Cookies

These cookies couldn’t be easier to whip up when your sugar craving hits!

Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.

Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, cream the butter, cream cheese, sugar, and powdered sugar until thoroughly combined.

Pour in the egg and vanilla and mix for about 1 minute.

Stir in the dry mixture and mix on medium-low until mixed through. The dough should appear crumbly but slightly wet and easily stick together when rolling into balls.

Form small balls of dough and dip into sprinkles. If using large sprinkles, you may need to apply a little pressure to ensure the sprinkles stick to the dough enough.

Lay on a greased cookie sheet and flatten. Cook for 10 minutes and allow at least 5 minutes to cool. The cookies may not appear done, but will continue cooking as they cool. Serve with a big glass of your milk of choice!
