To make Baked Chipotle Lime Chicken you will need a can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. I do not regularly use this ingredient and am always uncertain of what to do with my remaining can.

Do not fret, because this post from Bon Appetit has compiled 8 amazing recipes to utilize those peppers and not have any waste.

Now let’s get cooking!

How to: Make Baked Chipotle Lime Chicken

This recipe is so easy to make for a quick weeknight meal and involves SO little prep! All you need is a chipotle lime marinade

Start by combining olive oil, lime juice, red pepper flakes, honey, and chipotle peppers. We will only use half of this sauce as a marinade and will reserve the other half for later.

Pour half of the sauce over the chicken breasts and marinate in the fridge for 1-3 hours.

Remove the chicken from the fridge and allow to come up to room temperature while the oven is preheating. Preheat the oven to 425°F.

Place the chicken breasts in a cast iron skillet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. You do not need to worry about flipping the chicken.

Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes undisturbed. Cover with the remaining sauce and lime wedges and serve!

  1. I love quick and easy recipes that look incredible. I love the contrast of the red marinade with the green lime slices on top. I’m a big fan of citrusy poultry. It’s so often lemon chicken so I love this twist!

  2. 5 stars
Chipotle and lime are unique flavors that i am not accustomed to tasting. But they go very well with chicken. Can’t wait to try your Chipotle lime chicken. Great protein flavor for a salad 🥗.
